Dustin Maher wrote the book FIT MOMS FOR LIFE, in this book he takes you step by step on what you need to do, so you can stay fit. When you read his Bio below, the first thing you will notice is his mother has to be very proud of the son she raised.
This isn’t your normal diet book, he’s not trying to selling you something to take for you to lose weight. What he is doing, is teaching us that it’s very important to make time for yourself. As a mother, sister, daughter and friend I tend to always put everybody else before my needs. This is no ones fault but mine, I’ve always been this way. IS it healthy? No, it’s not and after reading FIT MOMS FOR LIFE, I realized just how unhealthy it is.
Dustin Maher starts out by explaining how our way of thinking needs to change, before we can ever really commit to getting healthy. In FIT MOMS FOR LIFE you will find out that putting yourself first for at least 45-60 minutes a day 5 times a week can help change your life forever. Your mind set has to be positive, you have to be ready to change things, or you won’t be successful in doing this. You have to look inside yourself and really believe you’re worth it and that by doing this you will in the end be helping your family and friends in the long run, but most importantly yourself.
You need a strong support system, that’s where your family and friends are going to be your backbone though this life change. When you get ready to start, take a before picture so you can see how much of a change there is, also take your measurements before you start. Don’t have an obsession with the scales, mirror or constantly thinking about weight loss, food, or exercise. Take a picture and measurements once a month, you’re not going to do anything but upset yourself doing it everyday or week.
Set your goals and stick to them, keep an eating log of everything you eat. He explains what to stay away from and it’s not as hard as you’re thinking it is either, I was at first thinking here we go again. One of his rules is, if your great grandparents didn’t eat it, then stay away from it. You will be shocked at what you can eat, also he gives you 2-3 cheat meals a week. If you’re depriving yourself, you’re only going to get off course and you won’t continue. If you exercise more than 1 hour at any given time, it’s to much, unless you’re training for a marathon.
Dustin Maher Provides everything you need to be FIT MOMS FOR LIFE in his book.

And he walks you though each step. I have learned a lot from this amazing book and I look forward to putting it all to good use.

About Dustin Maher
Dustin Maher is a fitness professional living in Madison, WI. He’s 28 years old and absolutely love his job as a personal trainer/fitness instructor/writer/motivational speaker/and teacher. He loves helping everyone he comes in contact with get in better shape. He especially enjoys helping moms to look even better, than before having kids.
The first question he gets asked a lot is, why a 28 year old single guy loves working with moms. Well the answer to that question goes back many years to when his my mom raised 3 younger siblings and him, along with his dad. She was a stay-at-home mom and did so much for her 4 children. Looking back, he realized that she spent so much time taking care of her kids that she didn’t take time for herself. Nor did she have a good support group of other mothers who were motivated to get in shape and lose the baby fat. He feels blessed to have a mom that was health conscious and cooked very healthy. He learned a lot from her as she taught him what it meant to eat well.
He feels blessed to have been on TV nearly 100 times, and been featured on numerous radio shows, magazines, and newspapers.
Now he has a bigger mission, and that is to help 1,000,000 mothers to get into the best shape of their lives!

Very neat. Sounds like a book I could benefit from. I have gained 30lbs since becoming married and struggle to take time for myself.
Does anyone else think its weird that this book was written by a man??
No, did you read his Bio? I think what he done is awesome and why he done it. The one book I reviewed Naughty makeovers for nice girls was also written by a man.
I love this book!:)
My Hubs could use this book for sure. Dustin is so cute that I would want to be in shape just looking at him.
I’m very impressed that this book covers having time for yourself and support form others. That is so important for all aspects of life.
I would love this book. I like his philosophy, “if your great grandparents didn’t eat it, then stay away from it.” I feel that all of the advances of processed food has only been detrimental to our diets and weight. Thanks for sharing.
I have to agree with Chelsea Saulpaugh. It is very odd that this book is written by a man. I’m not saying that the advice is not good, although from the review, pretty much all of the advice given seems to be either common sense or ideas that can be gleened from any other book or from the thousands of fitness and weightloss websites out there.
I am not saying that I wouldn’t give his book a chance, but I honestly would probably pass it up in favor of a woman who give similar advice and tips, who has the same issues that I as a woman and mother face.
This man’s bio doesn’t even state that he is a parent. It’s very easy to advise women who have families, homes to care for and careers to and social lives to tend to, as well, to take five or more hours a week for themselves. And it’s a great dream to think that we can do it… But I have found that the very people who are supposed to be a support system are not only unlikely to be supportive, but may actually be likely to sabotage ones efforts in the area of fitness and health.
If a man is suggesting, as a personal trainer, that women take this time to spend solely on themselves, it’s because he caters to women who can afford to pay him a bundle of money for that personal training. Those women probably have the money to pay for daycare for one or more child while they are spending this time on themselves and can afford to prepare three separate meals for themselves while feeding their families something else, or have someone prepare all of those meals for them.
Such a interesting book with great tips!
